Large branch down from Tree that has continually been reported to City and SCF for attention. It partially brought down a wire from utility as well (does not appear to be electric but unsure).
This tree, and the one next to it are still dropping branches on a regular basis, all of which are 2" in diameter or more and soft pulp inside. Trees really should be removed!
Both Trees in front of 80 Cliff street are in serious need of attention. One is completely dead and continues to drop branches, the other is also dropping branches but shows some sign of life. These have both been reported for several years to no avail. In theory the address is on the UI Tree trimming list for 2019 but we've seen no activity (https://www.newhavenct.gov/civicax/filebank/blobdload.aspx?blobid=33498). This location has a lot of car and foot traffic for the park and nearby St. Thomas's Day School and Church. There is risk of someone getting hurt or property damage to cars.
At least one of the trees is dead and should be removed, the other appears on its way (Sandweiss has looked as well and confirmed the condition when checking other trees on our property).
I realize with the current COVID-19 situation the city is understaffed and priorities have temporarily shifted (rightly so), but so that this is not lost track when life returns to normal here is a photo of the notice which was posted on the tree. With time it may fall off.
