Thank you for submitting this report. We received a duplicate concern a few weeks ago and I forwarded it to the Health Department for investigation. I received the following response from Mr. David Reiher of the State Health Department:
Again this spring the pool (Abandoned Mariner Swim club) was evaluated for mosquito larvae. On May 10, 2016 after extensive sampling no larvae were detected. The pool was treated prophylactically with Altosid XR larvacide that will last for a period of 120 days. This is the fourth year in a row that larvae have not been detected. These situations are not normally what mosquitoes select as breeding sites.
I have asked the Department of Inspections, Licenses and Permits to investigate the fencing to be sure it is secure. I will post the findings of that investigation when I receive the information.
