Description
There is a pole infested with large bees here that approach community members and can be violent. They show up every year. Last year the city dealt with this and they were gone for a while. This year I posted this on SeeClickFix again and it was closed, I was told to contact national grid or Verizon andJUST like last year they told me to contact the department of general services so which is it?The city needs to handle this because it endangers welfare of it's citizens. National grid and Verizon are doing nothing about the pole so just like in previous years the city needs to do something about it. Don't close this until it's fixed.

…and every year I say the same thing. These bees are wood bees. They won’t bother you unless you really, really physically try to harm them. …and you’ll have to work at it.
The only one harmed is that pole.
I come face to face with them in my yard. At arms reach. I’ll walk right at them. They move out of the way.
Those living on the odd # side of Partridge between Kent and Bradford should be more concerned with the rats running from under porch to porch.

Great that they’re friendly toward you, you’re not the one getting stung or harassed by them so this doesn’t concern you.
By the way, the rat problem was reported (by me) and dealt with I haven’t seen anymore in a long while. The neighbors responsible for the infestation have been kicked out a long time ago.

They’ll defend themselves but it has to be a dire situation.
I’m going to get one to crawl on me and take a pic. ….and I’m not no bee whisperer.

Btw,the female wood bees stay close to their eggs. Rarely will you see them or get stung and they will only do so if the nest is disturbed or provoked.
The male wood bees do NOT have a stinger. They may seem aggressive but they cannot sting. So go make friends with Mr Woodbee. He can’t harm you.
