Harford County owns the streetlights but BGE provides any maintenance or repairs within their jurisdiction. We ask you to use the BGE website or the BGE number below to report any outages or damage to the streetlights and they will be able to follow the progress of the repairs. By doing this you will have the ability to receive notifications on the repairs and monitor the progress .
To start: Go to www.bge.com – Click on OUTAGES - REPORT A STREETLIGHT OUTAGE, at this point a map will come up, type in the full address, hit enter or you can get there by zooming in. Once it zooms in to the address entered, it will show icons with light bulbs that BGE maintains, “County & STATE”. If it doesn’t show up on the map, more than likely it will be private area lighting. Click on the pertinent bulb and just follow the prompts from there. Once the person has filled out all the information, the icon will change and that will let them know action will be taken.
I know in reading this it may seem like a lengthy process but actually it is very quick and easy.

There are some streetlight upgrades underway in this area. The BGE streetlight contractor discovered a cable fault and submitted it for repair.
I was only in the know due to the upgrades, typically we are not made aware of routine issues by BGE. In the future if there are issues, please follow the directions above.
A streetlight that has been knocked down or is leaning and/or any exposed wires are considered emergency situations and should be reported immediately to BGE by calling 1-800-685-0123.
